Company Registration Services
Register Your Australian Company With Confidence.
Registering a company is one of the first formal steps in turninga business idea into an Australian company. ACE Shelf Companies helps take care of that process, from checking the details supplied for the application through to lodging the registration with ASIC.
Company Registration
What Is Involved in Registering a Company?
An Australian company must be registered on the Australian companies register administered by ASIC. Before an application can be lodged, several details have to be settled. These commonly include the proposed company name, registered and principal business addresses, director details, shareholder information and the number and class of shares to be issued. Directors also need to meet ASIC requirements and have a director ID where required. ACE works through these details with you and prepares the company registration using the information provided. Once ASIC registers the company, it receives its own Australian Company Number (ACN).

Registration FAQs
Company Registration FAQs
Answers to some common questions about Australian company registration and the information involved.
01
What do I receive after my company is registered?
ASIC issues the company a unique nine-digit Australian
Company Number, or ACN, once registration is completed.
The ACN identifies the company on the Australian
companies register.
02
Is an ACN the same as an ABN?
No. An ACN identifies a registered Australian company
and is issued through ASIC. An Australian Business
Number (ABN) is a separate 11-digit identifier used
by businesses in dealings with government and the
wider community.
03
Can I register a company if I am not an Australian resident?
A proprietary company can include directors or
shareholders who are not Australian residents,
but at least one director must live in Australia.
